FUNCTIONS

  • Facilitate the recruitment, selection, appointment, promotion, transfer, discipline and retirement of Public Servants.
  • Administer leave requests (maternity, vacation, no-pay, leave of absence, secondment).
  • Ensure that officers are appointed or promoted in accordance with established policies.
  • Administer the performance appraisal process.
  • Administer compensation.
  • Prepare clearly outlined Terms and Conditions of Employment.
  • Provide counseling to officers who are not performing at the required standard.
  • Provide general employment counseling.
  • Monitor and evaluate performance in order to improve personal and professional development.
  • Periodically update the policies, regulations and procedures of the Public Service as they relate to personnel administration.
